CASE STUDY – Construction of car park – Hospital Surfacing

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital was revamped as surfacing specialists Spadeoak was appointed as the surfacing contractor to complete the construction of a car park area, utilising sustainable asphalt, for the new modular unit extension currently being built.

With over 45 years of construction and surfacing experience our client approached Spadeoak to complete the construction of a new car park and access road at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital for the new modular unit extensions currently being built.

Utilising sustainable material, Spadeoak carrier out the works installing 320m2 to build the new car park area including a base, binder and surface course layer.

Spadeoak were instructed to construct a 320m² car park with a material depth of 165mm made up of the 3 layers.
Spadeoak was also tasked with installing a resin foothpath, covering a 29m² area to access the hospital.

Minimising disruption is critical for this project, Spadeoak understands and has plenty of experience within this sector and type of work. Minimising noise, disturbance and disruption to the site is vital in a live hospital environment, communication, knowledge and understanding is key and another reason why the NHS trust Spadeoak to complete their projects.
