Spadeoak began the ground clearance, stripping the top soil to lay the foundations for the new pitch in July 2024. The 8-week programme would see Spadeoak construct a asphalt path around the pitch, install 8,664m² artificial grass from Tiger Turf, utilising the Rugby 360 IRB/Type 22 compliant material, including 1 full set of rugby lines.
Rugby 360 is an innovative, third generation that consists of two unique profiled fibres. A 60mm surface with a pile density suited to the rigorous demands of Rugby training and fixtures as well as competitive football.
Developed with player safety and performance standards in mind, Rugby 360 is suitable for minis and juniors right through to senior-level sport.
A sub-layer to the pitch included a geotextile membrane to aid stability & prevent future weed growth, 250mm of type 3, 40mm asphalt plus 20mm in-situ shockpad.
Spadeoak teams installed 8 lighting columns with a unique wireless control system as well as 580lm of Duralock spectator rails with double and single access gates.
The pitch included 2 created dugout areas and future-proofed with foundations to allow further development.
