Spadeoak support friends of Common Woods with help from George Lines.
Spadeoak worked with a local volunteer group to design and install a new access and safe standing area to cross a busy road that leads into the woods in the village of Penn, Buckinghamshire. An area of the woods, an opening between trees, popular with local families and dog walkers has been used for years to access Common Wood.
However, crossing the road had become dangerous and a hazard to both the public and road users. Spadeoak cut back and levelled the area providing a safe standing opening, minimising trip hazards and creating a clearing so members of the public are able to clearly see the road for crossing, adding a gravel slope for access and wooden handrail. Thank you to the support from George Lines who donated 6 x MOT type 1 aggregate bags to surface the new entrance and footpath into the woods.
