SPADEOAK ARE PUTTING ON OUR BOOTS TO SUPPORT ALEXANDER DEVINE
Spadeoak will be putting on our walking boots to support our Charity of the Year, Alexander Devine.
Our teams will be participating in an 8-mile charity walk on Thursday 12th September from the Spadeoak head office in Wooburn Green to the Alexander Devine head office in Maidenhead.
#SPADEOAKSITECHALLENGE
With current programme demands we are unable to offer participation of the charity walk to all of our colleagues. We have therefore created the #Spadeoaksitechallenge we are challenging our site teams on the 12th September to match our 8mile walk by completing 15,000 steps during their day, the equivalent to walking 8 miles, and getting friends and family to sponsor in support of Alexander Devine Children’s Charity.
Alexander Devine provide specialist care and support to children, and their families, with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across Berkshire and into surrounding counties.

The charity opens up opportunities for children and their siblings to experience fun, joy and adventures, and help families make precious memories together, for as long as they have. Their services include respite care, specialist play, symptom management, family support, end-of-live care and bereavement support, helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of their service.
It costs over £3m to run their children’s hospice service each year, supporting over 200 children and their families, caring for over 18,500 hours per year, with only 17% of yearly costs covered the remaining 83% is relied upon by donations, fundraising, and gifts in Wills.
Their work is only possible because of the kindness and support received from individuals, businesses, schools, community groups, clubs and volunteers.
Just £96 would pay for a fun splash session in their hydrotherapy pool. A donation of £439 would fund a day at their hospice for a seriously-ill child, providing an opportunity for fun and play with specialist care.
